Responsibilities
- Manage the overall operation and performance of the Special Accounts Department, its products, services, and programs
- Monitor the quality and consistency of the work delivered by the Special Accounts Team
- Ensure the team is responsive to members, front-line teams, and in-house legal counsel
- Provide feedback and guidance to staff and take corrective action when necessary
- Gather feedback from front-line teams to assess performance and drive the continuous improvement of the work delivered
- Conduct regular meetings with the legal team to drive efficiency recommendations
- Assist the team with daily tasks (cases from frontline, workflows, mail, faxes, and emails) to maintain response time frames and meet SLA’s
- Delegate responsibilities to staff and monitor progress to ensure department goals are met and high-quality member service is maintained
- Assist with other personnel activities of staff, such as hiring, training, performance appraisals, scheduling, and disciplinary matters
- Cultivate strong working relationships and build trust among team members
- Set daily operational objectives for the team
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related field (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements)
- 5 years of experience administering deceased accounts, estates, powers of attorney, and similar programs with a financial institution
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
- Paralegal certification preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with all staff, members, and external departments
