We are looking for a Sr Specialist Trader who will be responsible for buying and selling energy-related products on a short-term and intermediate basis, transacting for profit or on behalf of the organization's assets.
In this role, you will conduct trading by contract with producers, other energy traders, and consumers within the organization's trading strategy guidelines, risk limits, and government regulations.
Minimum Requirements :
- Undergraduate degree
- Minimum of 8 years related commodity trading / marketing experience and minimum 15 years industry experience
- Specific market or functional expertise
- Technical understanding of the inter relationship between physical and financial markets
- Highly developed analytical skills required to develop market calls, and demonstrated ability to execute those market calls
- Highly developed problem solving and communication skills
- Identify trading opportunities and execute plans to create value for Suncor
- Solid understanding of how macro and micro economics impacts commodity pricing
- Strong ability to assess risk and apply appropriate tools physical and financial tools to manage risk
- Strong understanding of interdependencies of both physical and financial trading
- Demonstrated ability to take on calculated risk positions
- Considered an expert in geographic area or function and can apply expertise to complex situations
- Recognized by peers as an expert in their field with extensive knowledge with respect to their area of expertise and the underlying business and provides leadership
