Experienced Solar installers are responsible for Sundog Solar's residential and commercial construction of solar arrays. Complete A-Z construction of solar arrays from foundations or mounting feet to final panels and array details. This job brings you up and down the coast in Sundog's construction trucks, experiencing all of the beauty Maine has to offer. The role is an intimate position with renewable energy systems ranging form 1kW to 2MW.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure correct project information and proper communications with office staff
- Communicating about daily and weekly schedule with all other field employees
- Select correct products for each installation
- Responsible for high quality contribution to the installation accuracy of all residential and commercial solar projects that Sundog Solar performs
- Responsible for competency of current NEC and OSHA rules and regulations directly related to the PV modules, racking system, bonding system, DC source and output circuits.
- Communicate and cross check job site information with Sundog Solar’s Field Operations Managers and other field employees.
- Cross check with electricians the following but not limited to: AC and DC installation, verify balance of system (BOS) layout, PV equipment placement, inverter installation, conduit and wiring, service disconnects, AC grid inter-tie, ensuring compliance with all NEC and AHJ requirements for solar systems.
- Verify the integrity of the buildings structural attachments and buildings roof mounting surface conditions
- Verify general mounting location of array, DC pipe run and Inverter and AC Equipment mounting locations
- Verify accuracy of the layout and assembly of mounting system and parts used
- Verify accuracy of string layout in communication with each project electrician
- Verify accuracy of mechanical and structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment
- Verify accuracy of PV source and output circuit wiring
- Document completion of installation with photos, parts lists used, inspections and COC’s and input data into proper job tracking location (trello, google drive, hard file)
- Ensure clean job sites
- Attend company supported training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety
- Responsible for following proper safety procedures as set by OSHA, Memic and Sundog Sundog Safety Policy
- Responsible for participation in maintaining company vehicles
- Responsible for adhering to present and future company policies
- Additional duties required as needed
- Capable of comfortably lifting up to 75 lbs when needed
- Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, small attic and basement spaces)
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs and work on rooftops of different angles and pitches
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and google drive
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must have a valid ME state driver’s license
- Thrive in a team environment
Critical Skills/Expectations:
- Able to comfortably lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, work on roofs in varying hot and cold temperatures
- Good communication with others and an ability to work as part of a team
- Familiar with hand tools and basic construction techniques
- Comfortable working on roofs and is not afraid of heights
