Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced HRBP Supervisor to oversee employee relations, talent management, and HR strategy execution within our Service Business Unit (BU). This role requires strong knowledge of employment laws, critical thinking skills, and the ability to act as a strategic partner to both leadership and employees.

The HRBP Supervisor will collaborate with HR professionals and business leaders to develop and implement programs that attract, develop, and retain a highly engaged workforce. This position plays a key role in aligning human capital initiatives with business objectives while ensuring compliance and fostering a positive work environment.

This role is based in Costa Mesa, CA, or Houston, TX, and reports to the Head of HR.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Collaborate with Service BU leaders to integrate people strategies with business objectives.
  • Serve as an advisor to leadership on employee relations, organizational development, and workforce planning.
  • Provide data-driven insights to drive decision-making on talent management and performance strategies.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues with thorough investigations and objective problem-solving.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, mitigating risk through proactive HR policies and practices.
  • Partner with legal teams on immigration-related matters when necessary.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Work with recruiters to oversee recruitment efforts at all levels, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Assist managers with candidate selection, compensation recommendations, and hiring best practices.
  • Lead workforce planning initiatives to address talent gaps and future organizational needs.

Performance Management & Employee Development

  • Manage the organization's performance management program, including training and communication initiatives.
  • Develop learning programs to support career growth and leadership development.
  • Coach managers on employee engagement, feedback, and team development.

HR Operations & Leadership

  • Lead and mentor HR Coordinator(s), ensuring effective HR service delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR processes, leveraging HR technology and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and diversity within the organization.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5 years of HR experience, preferably in an HR Business Partner role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and talent management.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization is a plus.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and influence key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and trends.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to foster positive employee relations.
  • HRIS experience preferred.

Bilingual in English and Chinese is preferred

Certifications

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification preferred.

Work Location & Travel

  • Full-time position based in Costa Mesa, CA, or Houston, TX.
  • Less than 10% travel is required.
