Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Manager for Lead Acid Batteries will oversee the production of batteries used in mobility and battery-powered equipment, such as forklifts. This role is responsible for managing the entire manufacturing process, ensuring the production of high-quality, reliable products that meet industry standards. The Manufacturing Manager will lead a team of production operators and technicians, implementing best practices for safety, quality control, and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include optimizing production processes, managing inventory, and ensuring equipment maintenance while adhering to safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lead-acid battery production, team leadership experience, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Manage day-to-day production operations, ensuring that manufacturing processes meet quality standards, production goals, and customer requirements.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and guide a team of production operators, technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and teamwork.
- Quality Control: Ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements, implementing and maintaining quality assurance programs throughout the manufacturing process.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce adherence to safety policies and standards, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions to ensure a safe work environment.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate production workflows and processes, driving improvements that reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lower costs.
- Cost Management: Monitor production costs, work with others to develop cost-reduction strategies, and optimize resource use without compromising quality.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on key performance metrics, including production output, efficiency, quality, and safety issues as needed.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional departments, such as engineering, planning, procurement, and sales, to ensure alignment of production goals and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing management role, ideally in lead-acid battery production or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of lead-acid battery production processes, particularly for mobility or battery-powered equipment.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with experience in managing production staff and improving team performance.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.) and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in manufacturing software (SAP) and data analysis tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with forklift or other battery-powered equipment production processes.
- Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or a similar program.
- Experience in cost management and budget control within a manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions:
