Community Outreach Coordinator
The Community Outreach Coordinator will report to the Director of Development. They will promote Sunlight’s mission with consistent branding and community engagement goals. The Coordinator will represent Sunlight Children’s Services and its programs in a professional manner and provide all event coordination for fundraising activities.
The specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Community Outreach:
- Serve as primary contact for community events.
- Communicate professionally with donors to explain Sunlight’s needs and requirements regarding donation processes
- Manage volunteer program and conduct community outreach to recruit volunteers
- Maintain contact with volunteers and schedule times and activities for them
- Maintain documentation and records of volunteer hours and provide monthly reports
- Serve as primary contact for donations and service projects
- Coordinate and supervise donation drives throughout the year
- Represent Sunlight Children’s Services at community events and provide presentations as needed
- Conduct facility tours and information sessions
- Assist in maintaining donor database and report trends to Leadership
Special Event Planning:
- In conjunction with the Director of Development, plan and execute special events and fundraisers including donor and volunteer appreciation events
- Conduct other community engagement activities and fundraising initiatives
- Communicate with the public regarding agency services
- Plan and coordinate activities for Child Abuse Prevention month
Social Media/Imaging:
- Create content and maintain agency’s social media accounts, including oversight of Sunlight Thrift Boutique messaging
- Manage and update agency website
- Ensure agency brand is reflected on all print materials including brochures, promotional items, and any circulated item
- Create and circulate newsletters
- Design circulations and mailings for annual events
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and can pass all state and federal background checks, as established by KDHE and DCF. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and public relation skills. Self-motivated and ability to work independently and within a team.
Schedule/Location:
Monday – Friday, some evening and weekend hours as necessary for fundraising efforts and events. Maintain a presence within both Sunlight programs and designate time between the Child Advocacy Center and Children’s Home.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; stoop; bend; walk; talk; hear; use hands to grip, type; reach with hands and arms; required daily to stand or walk on uneven surfaces; climb stairs; lift up to 40 pounds. This job requires weekly driving.
