Residential Supervisor
The Sunlight Children’s Home Residential Supervisor will be an integral part of the leadership of the Home and will help to improve the evening operational systems, processes, and policies. The Residential Supervisor will collaborate with Home Leadership to ensure the mission is being fulfilled through effective programming and service delivery. The Residential Supervisor must be able to demonstrate sound decision-making and critical thinking skills. Must be passionate about supporting children who have had traumatic experiences.
This position works 8 hour shifts, Monday-Friday.
MANAGEMENT:
- Assist the Residential Manager with direct supervision of all direct care staff.
- Ensure direct care staff follow schedules, complete duties as assigned, and maintain standards established by SCH administrators.
- Assists with resolving staff conflicts and communicating preferences and needs to Residential Manager.
- Complete scheduling/rotation and employee evaluations as needed.
- With guidance from Residential Manager, implements progressive disciplinary actions (verbal warnings, write-ups, etc.) and escalates issues to Residential Manager as needed.
MAINTENANCE:
- Complete routine reports on the Home’s condition, maintenance needs, and ongoing projects and report them to Residential Manager and Administrative Assistant.
- Manages Home maintenance with Administrative Assistant.
- Serve as contact for vendors while at the home.
- Assist with licensing and ensuring the Home remains in compliance with state regulations.
- Run errands and make other purchases as needed.
- Manages the Home’s food and supplies list.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
- Assist with all fingerprinting for new hires and volunteers.
- Resolves last-minute scheduling issues during evening/night shifts and finds coverage as needed.
- Verifies accuracy of evening intake packets and release paperwork.
- Assists with training and orientation of new staff as needed.
- Assist Residential Manager with billing and statistical information.
- Communicates with other administrators consistently about staffing, program, and supply needs.
- Serves a contact for agencies- resolves issues related to placement, documentation, and transportation of residents.
- On-call rotation is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
The Residential Supervisor must be 21 years of age, Bachelor’s Degree preferred but will consider relevant experience, and must pass all state and federal background checks, as established by KDHE and DCF.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; stoop; bend; walk; talk; hear; use hands to grip, type; reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to stand or walk on uneven surfaces; climb stairs; lift up to 40 pounds. This job requires occasionally driving.
