General Summary:
The Edibles Manager leads and oversees the edibles production team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of kitchen management, safety, and product quality. The Edibles Manager focuses on operational leadership, team development, and regulatory compliance to deliver safe, effective, and consistently high-quality edible products to customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Kitchen Management & Cleanliness
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including setup, production, and cleanup, ensuring an organized and efficient work environment.
Implement and enforce strict sanitation, health, and safety protocols.
Regularly inspect and maintain kitchen equipment, tools, and workspaces to meet health and regulatory standards.
2. Leadership & Team Development
Provide hands-on leadership to the edibles team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture.
Develop and implement training programs focused on best practices, compliance, and quality control.
Conduct regular performance reviews, set achievable goals, and motivate the team to exceed expectations.
3. Product Quality & Consistency
Oversee the creation of cannabis-infused products, ensuring adherence to recipes, dosage standards, and product consistency.
Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to maintain product standards and customer satisfaction.
Develop and refine edible recipes in collaboration with product development teams.
4. Compliance & Documentation
Maintain compliance with state and local regulations, including dosage control, packaging, labeling, and waste management.
Ensure that all team members understand and follow SOPs, state cannabis regulations, and company policies.
Maintain meticulous records for production batches, quality checks, and compliance inspections.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Must be 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or related field is a plus).
- 3 years of experience in a kitchen management role, preferably in the food manufacturing or cannabis industry.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations; ServSafe certification or similar is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team development and training.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with cannabis edibles production and compliance standards is a plus.
