Bartender – Oakway Pub

Company Overview:

Sunriver Brewing Company is a family-owned business founded in Central Oregon in 2012. Almost 300 team members represent three pubs and a brewery located in Central Oregon with an additional pub in Eugene. We are dedicated to awesome craft beer, delicious food, and engaging service. We're looking for a bartender-server to join our team and operations at our Oakway Pub in Eugene.

Bartender - Position Summary:

We are looking for a professional, high-energy bartender-server with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. The bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages. You will also upsell items, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. This position also requires table service experience.

To succeed as a bartender, you should have an engaging, friendly personality, and a positive attitude. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and have the ability to work well under pressure with servers, hosts, bussers, cooks, and other staff. Previous work experience of at least 2 years in customer service in a fast-paced environment is must.

Bartender - Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
• Write patrons' food orders and enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
• Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
• Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
• Engage with customers in a friendly manner.
• Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.
• All other duties as assigned.

Bartender - Job Requirements & Skills:

• Food Handler’s Permit & OLCC Permit.
• 2 years bartending and serving experience in a high-volume restaurant required.
• Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Must have availability to work nights and weekends.
• Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong task and time management abilities.
• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
