Job Summary :

The Body Shop Painter is responsible for applying paint and finish to vehicles, ensuring high-quality results that meet industry standards. This role involves preparing surfaces, mixing and matching paint colors, and performing touch-ups to achieve a flawless finish.

Essential Functions :

• Clean, sand, and prime surfaces to be painted, ensuring they are free of imperfections.
• Remove or mask areas that should not be painted (e.g., windows, trim).
• Mix paint according to specifications, ensuring accurate color matching and consistency.
• Apply paint using various techniques (spray, brush, etc.) to achieve a smooth, even finish.
• Inspect finished work for quality and adherence to standards, making necessary adjustments as needed.
• Perform touch-ups and repairs on painted surfaces to correct any flaws.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment, such as spray guns and compressors, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Follow safety procedures and protocols for handling paints and solvents.
• Work closely with body shop technicians and the Body Shop Manager to coordinate workflow and timelines.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding project status and any issues that arise.
• Maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent on each job.
• Report any inventory needs for paint supplies to the Body Shop Manager.
• Relocate vehicles within the shop to ensure proper functionality after repairs and to facilitate workflow and organization throughout the facility.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
