QA Tech Swing

Position Summary: This position will conduct hourly testing and recording results throughout the production process to enable Shift Supervisors and QA Manager make adjustments to the process to achieve the required end product specification.

Responsibilities:

1. Raw fruit analysis on all incoming lots.

2. Calibrate and ensure accuracy of equipment at the beginning of each shift.

3. Notify appropriate person of any deviations in the production from the desired specification.

4. Maintain CIP logs. Approve cleaning through visual inspections and ATP swabs.

5. Monitor/verify Critical Control Points according to SunRype HACCP Program.

6. Notify supervisor immediately of any deviation from the CCP and implement and record a corrective action.

7. Assist in additional testing needs as assigned.

8. Keep Laboratory clean and organized throughout shift.

9. Other responsibilities as needed.

Role in Food Safety:

• Monitor/verify Critical Control Points according to SunRype HACCP Program.
• Notify supervisor immediately of any deviation from the CCP and implement and record a corrective action.
• Follow GMP practices

A. Physical Requirements:

This position requires the following physical demands up to 90% of the time:

· Must be able to lift and carry 25pounds,

· Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours during a shift minus breaks and lunch,

· Must be able to work in hot, humid and/or cold areas,

· Must have good hand-eye coordination.

B. Non-Physical Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in food sciences preferred. High school diploma required.

2. Experience: Minimum one year experience in a juice processing environment preferred.

3. Special Skills:

• Able to work any shift, overtime and any or all days of the week in accordance with plant needs.
• Knowledge of SDS for lab chemicals.
• Complete understanding of all required analyses and proper use of lab equipment.
• Understanding of HACCP programs.
• Good communication skills.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Personally invested in the success of the business.
• Motivated, focused and accountable for results.
• Ability to comply with plant safety policies.
• Ability to comply with plant GMP and HACCP policies.

• None required.

5. External Relationships:

• None

6. Internal Relationships:

• The QA Tech must interact and communicate effectively with all employees of the organization. Effective communication is especially important with the shift supervisor.

• There are no direct or indirect reports.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.11 - $19.00 per hour

Experience:

• Quality assurance: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:
