About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced professional to fill a dual management position overseeing both Quality Control and Shipping/Receiving operations at our auto recycling facility. The ideal candidate will ensure our recycled auto parts meet the highest quality standards while optimizing logistics operations for maximum efficiency. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact across multiple departments while streamlining communication between quality control and logistics functions in a growing automotive recycling business.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control:
- Develop and implement quality control systems for inspecting, testing, and grading recycled auto parts
- Establish quality standards for OEM, aftermarket, and refurbished auto parts
- Perform quality audits on inventory to ensure parts are properly categorized, cleaned, and stored
- Monitor environmental compliance related to fluid recovery, hazardous materials handling, and recycling processes
Shipping & Receiving:
- Manage daily shipping and receiving operations for core exchange, parts delivery, and vehicle acquisition
- Oversee inventory management of recycled parts using automotive recycling inventory systems
- Coordinate with carriers, salvage auctions, and parts buyers to ensure timely deliveries and pickups
- Implement tracking systems for all incoming vehicles and outgoing parts shipments
- Oversee vehicle receiving, inspection, and documentation processes
Management Functions:
- Train and supervise quality control staffand shipping/receiving staff
- Maintain detailed documentation for inventory, environmental compliance, and parts warranty purposes
- Collaborate with sales team to fulfill special orders and expedite high-demand parts
- Analyze operational data to improve recovery rates and identify valuable parts acquisition opportunities
- Ensure compliance with automotive recycling industry regulations and safety standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of experience in automotive recycling, salvage operations, or auto parts management or similar field.
- Minimum 3 years in a management role within the automotive or recycling industry
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, parts identification, and quality assessment
- Experience with auto recycling inventory management systems (Hollander, Pinnacle, or similar)
- Familiar with environmental regulations governing auto recycling operations
- Knowledge of shipping regulations for auto parts and scrap materials
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
