Job purpose:
Responsible for effectively running the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- In conjunction with HR Manager, implement new hire orientation and team member recognition programs.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Human Resources Manager.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Other duties as assigned by HR Manager.

- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Must have flexibility with work schedule.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years of human resource management experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting in an office environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work, access and navigate each department at the facility.
