What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Nurse Manager position at Sunset Health?
Leadership:
Assist in managing the daily operations of the nursing department.
- Participate in reviewing nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with federal, state and accreditation regulatory standards and best practices.
- Assist with managing and allocate nursing resources, including staffing, budgeting, supplies, and equipment.
- Collaborate with other leadership members to drive organizational goals and foster a culture of teamwork and excellence.
- Ensures adherence to Sunset Health policies and procedures and to the nursing procedures, standards, and practices.
- Make rounds at each of the clinics.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Clinical Oversight:
Assist in ensuring that nursing and nursing support staff delivers high-quality care and adheres to established standards and guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and nursing and nursing support performance, including documentation, making necessary improvements.
- Design, implement and oversee quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
- Stay updated on advances in nursing practice and technology to facilitate evidence-based care.
- Supervise ordering of all medical supplies, medications, and immunizations.
- Oversee inventory, order processing, and distribution of nursing and medical supplies and equipment.
- Conduct and supervise staff’s employee health and maintain appropriate logs and records.
- Maintain current and up-to-date CPR Certification for all appropriate clinical staff.
- Ensure proper staffing levels and manage scheduling.
- Hold staff meetings at each clinic.
Staff Development:
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor nursing and nursing support staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to ensure a competent and motivated nursing and nursing support team.
- Promote ongoing education and certification for nursing and nursing support staff to maintain and enhance skills.
- Conduct nursing in-services to review policies and procedures, updates on immunization and/or process changes.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and licensure requirements.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and surveys, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to meet legal and regulatory obligations.
- Participate in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Committee.
- Coordinate and maintain Emergency Preparedness Program, training, and drills.
Patient Advocacy and Communication:
Serve as an advocate for patients, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing information and support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans and transitions.
Clinical Education:
Assist with providing supervision and direction to preceptors of each student.
