Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring Sunset properties are clean and in occupy-ready condition for guests. Inspecting and checking properties for the quality of housekeeping standards and damage is essential for guest and owner satisfaction. The Inspector gives the final "seal of approval" that a property is prepared for occupancy. This role is essential in ensuring a welcoming and hygienic environment for guests and residents alike.
Duties
- Inspect and approve the cleanliness and condition of properties and performance of housekeeping staff; ensuring that all procedures are completed to Sunset Lodging's housekeeping standards.
- Communicate with housekeeping staff and department manager deficiencies or needed corrections in cleaning responsibilities of any Sunset Lodging properties.
- Must be able to handle conflict resolution with effective communication.
- Assess and communicate with the department manager any unusual occurrences and/or damage to property that occurred, prior to or upon, the departure of guests.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Accommodate guest requests quickly and courteously ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Ensure properties are properly secured.
- Perform housekeeping department tasks associated with cleaning and preparation of properties in case of emergency or staff shortage.
- Assist the housekeeping manager with administrative and other job tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Provide exceptional hospitality by addressing guest inquiries or requests with professionalism.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years previous experience in housekeeping and/or property management maintenance. (Familiarity with housekeeping standards and current housekeeping practices.)
- Must be fluent in Verbal and Written English.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills including; verbal, listening, and comprehension skills.
- Knowledge and ability to do basic math.
- Excellent organization and time management skills required with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
- Ability to operate general office equipment, e.g., fax, copier, calculator.
- Must have a valid Drivers License and proof of insurance. .
- Must possess a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving record check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENT

- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be dexterous and have significant physical stamina. Able to be on one's feet for extended periods of time and able to move continuously during work hours. Ability to lift, carry, kneel, walk, sit, push, pull, crouch and crawl. Lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds. Able to walk or drive between multiple facilities and properties locations.
- ENVIRONMENT: Various locations, e.g., office building, laundry, cleaning and supply facility, and various owner property locations. Exposure to cleaning compounds, objects and materials containing blood contamination, infectious materials, and body fluids.
- SENSORY DEMANDS: Requires working in damp, dusty, and dirty areas. The office may be noisy and busy making it difficult to concentrate.
- MENTAL DEMANDS: You may have to manage a number of requests and situations at one time. Stress may be caused by the need to complete tasks within tight deadlines. You must be able to work under pressure and sometimes very stressful circumstances.
- SUMMARY OF OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES: Bloodborne pathogens: Tasks and procedures performed by employees involve risks classified by CDC as Category II (activity performed without blood exposure, but may occur in an emergency). Specific Tasks Exposure handling soiled linens and clothing, cleaning rooms and common areas: blood, urine, feces, vomitus, wound exudates, body secretions, and other body fluids.
