What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Venue Manager position at Sunset Place?
Sunset Place is a 77 acre event facility located in Mason, Michigan. The venue has 2 lodges, dining hall, 2 pavilions, outdoor chapel, glamping, shower house, house onsite for ground keepers and a maintenance shop. Candidates should have prior experience in event management and facility maintenance. Must be able to perform physical labor of property maintenance.
Operating and maintaining Sunset Place Camp in accordance to the motto of providing a healthy environment for the community to unite.
Facilitation of all activity on the land
- Event planning from initial phone call, property showings, check in/out, paperwork, liability waivers, and clean up after events.
- General marketing and outreach
- Maintain website and all advertising for event
- Run all activities in accordance with government and health department regulation
Maintain and improve land
- Mowing, brush clearing, building maintenance, development of new trails/activity areas.
- Monitoring of all buildings and utilities on the property with prompt reporting of problems requiring board of directors involvement.
- Maintain security of the land
- Utilize the land to its full potential with minimum occupancy and sales goals.
- In addition to salary compensation, included with position is lease of onsite 3 bed/2 bath house, one garage bay, utilities , and personal use of the land.

Pay: $25,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
