What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning And Development Specialist position at Sunset Senior Communities?
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will support Sunset by primarily focusing on the training and development of our team members. You will evaluate and deliver comprehensive training and development programs, ensuring that our employees have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles. You will also play a key role in developing a cohesive training strategy and ensuring consistency across our communities. Additionally, you will serve as a primary HR point of contact for employees at Sunset Manor and Village location.
Role Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze internal and external information to stay up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices related to employee development and performance.
- Identify skill or knowledge gaps among employees and work with the VP of HR to develop training content to address these needs.
- Coordinate training tools and delivery mechanisms based on the material being taught and the target audience.
- Create and maintain course content, manuals, and other training materials and resources.
- Assess the impact of training programs by measuring employee understanding of the subject matter.
- Develop and implement strategies to track employee retention metrics and analyze turnover data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with HR and management to create and execute initiatives aimed at improving employee retention. E.G. enhanced onboarding processes, regular check-ins, and targeted training programs.
- Provide support and resources for managers to help them better understand and address the needs of their team members, including training on effective communication and conflict resolution.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related field
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in human resources or training development
- Experience generating and analyzing data, making presentations, and managing processes
- Experience working in Microsoft 365
- Understanding of working with a learning management system and HRIS system
