What are the responsibilities and job description for the Horseback Riding Instructor position at Sunset Valley Farm, Inc.?
Candidate requirements: riding instructor wanted for popular , family friendly lesson barn.
- Must be an accomplished rider(walk trot canter jump with at least 5 consistent years experience ) and have good working knowledge of how to teach riding skills.
- Available to teach morning lessons for designated weekdays and/or weekends.
- Must be available to work designated weeknights for afterschool lessons and Saturday, Sunday or both days.
- Must groom, tack up, untack and care for horse and tack after lessons.
- Should have 5 years consistent experience with riding, handling horses.
- Must be at least 22 years of age.
- Should be flexible with part time schedule.
- Ideal candidate must enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities.
- Must have own reliable transportation. Prefer candidate to live within 25 minutes of barn location.
- Must be reliable and willing to work when scheduled. Must be prompt (arrive at least 30 min prior to lesson).
- Positive personality/ excellent communication skills/ no drama a must!
- Enjoys the outdoors and not affected by the seasonal weather. We teach outdoors!
- Open to learning new techniques for teaching.
- Will train right candidate how to teach lessons. Liability insurance provided by barn.
- Year commitment required. Competitive pay.
Job Responsibilities: Must be able to catch a horse in the field for lessons. Must teach the student how to groom and tack up horse. Must care for horse and clean up tack and barn area once lessons finished. Basic riding lessons include mounting/dismounting, basic riding aids, balance exercises, lunge line exercises. Barn is family friendly, horse/ponies well trained.' Positive Attitude, self starter, confident, respectful and friendly!
