To qualify as a Early Preschool Teacher: Applicant must have a minimum of 12 specific ECE units completed and verified upon hire, with some units in infant care. Ability to create/prepare curriculum, lead a classroom with ages ranging from 18m-30m; AND willing to substitute in our preschool classroom ages 2y-5yrs. Classroom management and ability to work as a team. Teachers are also expected to help open/close the center, willingness to be flexible in schedule changes to meet the needs of the center and assist lead teacher and director in additional tasks upon request. Experience is required.

Summary: Responsible for planning and implementing daily classroom lesson plans and assuring safety of children in the preschool classroom by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Plans and prepares lesson plans, schedules, and submits in accordance with administrative guidelines monthly.
2. Oversees constant supervision of children and facilitates the general safety and sanitization of the classroom environment and its activities to include outside play and playground.
3. Interacts with children through instructional methods to include play, music, arts and crafts, reading, writing, math, science, and physical activities.
4. Assists children with completing assigned projects while enhancing their learning skills.
5. Designs and maintains classroom climate to include visual aids related to curriculum and age/stage of development.
6. Monitors talents, special abilities, disabilities, deficiencies or problems of each individual child, documents issues/concerns as needed in logbook and notifies management.
7. Promotes and fosters each child's positive self-esteem and individual development toward their fullest potential in the areas of physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
8. Prepares thorough evaluations for children on a yearly basis or as needed and submits them to the director for review.
9. Establishes and maintains a positive interpersonal relationship with all children, fellow staff, and parents/guardians.
10. Assists children with personal care activities to include toileting, feeding and cleanliness needs in relation to age/stage of development.
11. Works closely with Classroom Leaders in a team-teaching atmosphere for classroom activities and shares pertinent information, suggestions, or ideas on a regular basis.
12. Assists in daily supervision of Volunteers, Room Assistants and Room Aides.
13. Attends in-service training, conferences, staff meetings and parent meetings as required.
14. Performs general classroom cleaning duties as necessary after projects, events and at the end of each day.
15. Maintains accurate and current attendance records and other related paperwork.
16. Adheres to all established policies, procedures, and code of ethics.
17. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Certificates and Licenses:
Background Clearance, a minimum of 12 ECE units; 3 of which must be in infant care and qualified by the Office of CCLD. 2 years’ experience leading a classroom, lesson planning and classroom management is preferred. CPR & First Aid certification and a California Food Handlers Certificate are required after hiring and must be maintained. Bilingual a plus!
