Job Details:
- Develops and promotes ongoing community engagement and inclusion efforts.
- Ensures a full continuum of personal and small group opportunities are offered.
- Organizes and implements social & recreational events and community programs including coordinating details such as transportation, tickets and registrations as needed.
- Organizes and implements vocational programming classes through coordination with community partners, collecting information needed for contracts, submitting payments, assisting with forming groups according to OISP’s and ensuring attendance to programs.
- Establishes and maintains an activity calendar that provides current information.
- Supports individuals, staff members and managers in developing knowledge of courses, events, opportunities in the community and successfully accessing them.
- Provides structured education and training to individuals, staff members and families to promote and support successful inclusion and engagement.
- Assists with development of strategic connections and partnerships in the community that provide social and economic opportunities.
- Attends OISP meeting for those receiving HPC Recreation.
- Ensures OISP Supports & Services, as well as CPT are correct for each individual.
- Ensure staff supporting individuals have all necessary training.
- Coordinate with the Scheduling Department to ensure adequate staffing.
- Responsible for ensuring the accounting for expenses for recreation through Certify and others means according to Sunshine’s policy and procedures.
- Correspondence with parents/guardians.
- Coordinate transportation requests for vehicles.
- Assists Director in developing target numbers and percentages needed to monitor the budget; assists in preparing budget needs and annual reports of organization.
- Assist Community Engagement Department with agency events such as concerts, events, programs, volunteer groups, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university preferred
- One or more years of experience in the field/combination of education and experience
- One of more years of experience in supervision strongly preferred
- One or more years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and proof of auto Insurance
- Pass criminal background, drug screen, physical & able to lift 50 lbs.
