Company Overview: Our client at OCPS – Professional Standards is looking for a senior manager with investigation background to develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs aimed at enhancing employee relations, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and employment laws.

Position Summary: The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, and five years of experience in investigations within the educational setting, local, state, or federal agency.

Responsibilities:

· Training Program Development: Design and develop professional standards training programs that address workplace behavior, conflict resolution, diversity, equity, compliance, and other relevant topics.

· Facilitation: Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions to employees and managers through various platforms, including in-person workshops, virtual training, and e-learning modules.

· Policy Education: Educate employees and managers on policies related to employee misconduct, such as code of civility, reporting A4, Social media Use, etc.

· Conflict Resolution Training: Provide training on conflict management strategies, mediation techniques, and how to maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.

· Feedback & Assessment: Assess the effectiveness of training programs by collecting feedback from participants, and making necessary adjustments to enhance learning outcomes.

· Collaboration: Work closely with the division of learning, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure training content aligns with the district values, legal requirements, and PS best practices.

· Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in professional Standards, employment law, and training methodologies to continuously improve training content and delivery methods.

· Consultation: Act as a resource for managers and employees on employee issues, providing guidance and support as needed.

· Professional Standards Best Practices, New Manager Orientation, New Principals Academy, Employee Drama, Pettiness, Workstyles and Personality Complaints, Anger Mgmt. and dispute resolution/mediation.

· Employee misconduct investigations

· Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

· 5 years of experience in investigations. Additional years of investigative experience in an education setting, local, state, or federal agency.

Necessary Attributes & Expectations:

· Knowledge of organization and management theory and practice.

· Knowledge of current educational trends and research.

· Knowledge of group dynamics.

· Knowledge and commitment to decentralized decision-making and accountability of results.

· Ability to read, interpret and enforce State Board Rules, school board policy, federal and state laws governing employee misconduct.

· Knowledge of or training in investigative practices and procedures relating to employee misconduct.

· Knowledge of or training in civil and criminal court procedures and records retrieval.

· Knowledge of Human Resources rules, regulations, and policies such as ADA, FMLA, EEO, Workman’s Compensation, and labor contracts.

· Ability to understand and enforce collective bargaining agreements to include grievances, arbitrations, and mediations.

· Ability to use effective public relations skills. Ability to analyze data. Ability to use effective interviewing techniques, investigative techniques, coaching, and evaluation procedures.

· Ability to analyze and resolve complex investigations and interpersonal conflicts. Ability to use public speaking skills effectively.

· Ability to work and communicate effectively with people through written and oral communication towards the achievement of district goals.

· Understands that quality teaching and learning are an essential process and product of public schools and has the ability to focus Professional Standards resources toward this goal.

· Ability to use memory and analytical skills to successfully complete investigative assignments.

· Ability to pay attention to detail and to ensure accuracy and completeness of all investigative material.

· Very good interpersonal/relationship management skills.

· Conflict resolution skills. Teamwork and networking with a broad array of internal and external contacts at all levels (i.e., general public, law enforcement agencies, various government agencies).

· Demonstrated ability to work in stressful situations over long periods of time.

· Ability to multitask and to provide sound advice on investigative strategies.

· Ability to manage large caseloads.

ADA COMPLIANCE

Physical Ability: Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate light work with some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. May involve some manipulating or moving of 12-20 pound items occasionally.

Sensory Requirements: Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability.

Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.
