Job Summary
Sunshine Literacy is a literacy-focused tutoring center dedicated to helping children develop strong reading, writing, and language skills. We provide individualized intervention for students struggling with literacy and work closely with families to support academic success.
We are looking for passionate and dedicated teachers to join our team. This role is ideal for educators, reading specialists, or individuals with a strong background in literacy instruction who want to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and confidence.
- Provide structured, evidence-based reading and literacy instruction to students in one-on-one or small group settings
- Implement intervention strategies focusing on phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and writing skills
- Assess students’ progress and adapt lessons based on their individual needs
- Create engaging, interactive learning experiences that build confidence and motivation
- Communicate regularly with parents and team members to discuss student progress and goals
- Participate in paid training to stay up to date on literacy intervention strategies and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, reading, or a related field (or current enrollment in a degree program)
- Experience working with children in an academic or tutoring setting
- Strong understanding of literacy development and reading intervention strategies
- Knowledge of ESE eligibilities
- Ability to create a positive, supportive learning environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passion for helping struggling readers succeed
