We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Commission Accounting Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role will be to manage the accounting of real estate commission transactions for our company.
Daily duties and requirements consist of, but are not limited to:
- Process and record the accounts receivable and accounts payable components of real estate commission transactions accurately and timely.
- Oversee collection efforts related to real estate commissions owed from customers.
- Process payments of commissions to both outside and in-house brokers.
- Perform job cost accounting.
- Process other accounts payable transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and other cash management responsibilities.
- Audit accounts related to commission transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and statements.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with other accounting functions and special projects.
- Provide general support to the accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Proven experience (1-3 years) in accounting or finance roles, preferably in real estate or a related industry.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (Sage 300 experience preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
