Will work closely with other Credit Analyst(s) and other Commercial Lenders to learn the following: prepare credit information, spread personal and business financial statements and tax returns, cash flow projections, as well as assist in the completion of Commercial Credit Memorandums/Write ups for credit determination on new requests, renewals and modifications of commercial loans. Will work with experienced Commercial Lenders in the Department to assist in building a commercial loan and deposit portfolio for the Credit Union through the acquisition, development and maintenance of all business member relationships. Will assist with developing referral sources and implementing sales plans in accordance with Credit Union sales and lending strategies. This position will create the opportunity to learn and expand professional skills in financial analysis, lending, treasury management, member relationship management, loan portfolio monitoring and risk management by working closely with an experienced team of Credit Analysts and Commercial Lenders. Although this position focuses on core competencies for both commercial credit analyst and commercial lending, the job could ultimately lead to a career path as a lender or credit analyst.

Job Duties
- Assist other lenders when consulting with the business membership to provide financial solutions to their financial needs through the interpretation and analysis of business tax returns and financial statements. Assist with penetration strategies to achieve new opportunities and build stronger relationships with existing members.
- Determine loan compliance with loan policy including documentation, financial soundness and loan structure guidelines.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Support senior analysts with data evaluations and analysis.
- Assist other lenders with the management of the sales process through development of leads, pipeline management and marketing strategy implementation. Assist by providing recommendations and solutions that lead to better commercial loan and deposit development and sales strategies.
- Collect financial information that includes personal financial statements, personal tax returns, business financial statements and tax returns, and other financial data.
- Prepare personal and business member spreadsheets.
- Prepare cash flow projections.
- Prepare credit analysis, loan support information, and loan risk ratings.
- Perform site visits and annual reviews of the existing loan portfolio.
- Prepare quarterly department reports to Management and the Board of Directors
- Assist with performing construction site inspections and document the credit file accordingly.
- Interact with Credit Union members and employees in a professional manner.
- Ensure member and Credit Union information is treated with utmost confidence and security, including adherence to member identification and shared procedures, to support the Credit Union’s core purpose of being the member’s trusted partner.
- Provide a superior member experience by actively listening to and assessing the needs of the member, identifying and recommending solutions, and referring members to the appropriate person or department.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Minimum three years’ experience in a financial institution. A bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field may be considered in lieu of experience. Prior experience with financial/credit analysis preferred.
- Prior exposure to loans from an operations or servicing perspective, particularly commercial loans, preferred.
- High proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) with ability to learn third-party lending software.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Possesses superior interpersonal skills. Demonstrates daily the Credit Union’s commitment to maintaining a close and caring touch with its members.
- Able to gain the cooperation of others and deal with internal/external contacts and all levels of staff and management appropriately.
- Functions well within departmental and cross-functional teams. Able to work proactively with team members in developing and achieving a common goal.
