Description
Supports the Treasury Management Officer (TMO) with management of all business member deposit relationships, including all aspects of the cash management function. Assists with the identification, analysis, sale and support of cash management products and services to both current and prospective business members.
Job Duties
- Under direction of the TMO, perform aspects of account analysis in order to determine business member financial needs. Determine appropriate working capital management solutions and recommend appropriate products based on this analysis.
- Provide support to the TMO regarding cash processing, reconciliation, and reporting functions for business members. Ensure such functions are compliant with all federal and state regulations and Credit Union policy.
- Become familiar with daily cash administration and management of business accounts. Be of service to business members ensuring financial obligations are met according to Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Assist the TMO, commercial lending staff, and business owners with ACH origination setup as well as annual ACH originator review.
- Perform cost/benefit and risk analysis on member business accounts.
- Work closely with IT operations and digital service teams to ensure smooth and seamless business member access to all online banking functions.
- Develop and cultivate ongoing relationships with key stakeholders of member and prospective member businesses. Solidify business member retention efforts by providing superior member service.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings with business units and/or members as needed.
- Assist in the review, development and refinement of Credit Union policies concerning business deposit accounts.
- Perform vendor relationship and contract review as needed. Work closely with the Credit Union’s vendor management team to analyze vendor risk to SLFCU.
- Research and review core banking system functionality as it pertains to business deposit accounts. Escalate issues to the relevant business unit when appropriate.
- Become familiar with the systems used for collection of revenues and payment processing.
- Work closely with the TMO, commercial lenders and business development associates to attain fee income and deposit goals.
- Prepare various monthly reports. Record and maintain minutes for the weekly business services “pipeline” meeting.
- Provide a superior member experience by actively listening, assessing the needs of the members, identifying and recommending solutions through superior problem solving, and referring members to the appropriate person or department.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Minimum one to three years’ experience in finance, accounting, or treasury management in a financial institution. Relevant credit union experience preferred.
- Superior business acumen with the ability to design and analyze potential and existing member business needs in order to project future financial success.
- Thorough understanding of business depository-related products.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret financial statements and business tax returns; knowledge of financial analysis.
- Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services, features, and benefits.
- High proficiency in use of MS Office applications and third-party software.
- A two-year degree in business administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience, relevant certification or training in lieu of a degree.
- Possesses superior interpersonal skills. Demonstrates daily the Credit Union’s commitment to maintaining a close and caring touch with its members.
- Demonstrated ability to build and strengthen new and current member/customer relationships.
- Possesses superior communication skills with the ability to articulate the benefits of strong working capital management solutions to business members.
- Skilled in communicating effectively with members/customers and leveraging critical relationships.
- Able to understand and absorb the components of financial statement analysis, including cash flow and its impact on financial statements, as well as deposit and loan processes.
- Demonstrates strong business judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Possesses strong analytical skills; gathers/analyzes information skillfully and identifies solutions effectively.
- Exhibits strong organizational and time management skills. Able to recognize and respond to deadlines and set priorities appropriately.
