What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Account Clerk (Purchasing) position at SUNY Broome Community College?
SUNY Broome Community College has an immediate opening for a full-time, Senior Account Clerk in the Purchasing Office. This position is represented by the ESPA bargaining unit. The scheduled days for this position are Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Auditing and reviewing requisitions and purchase orders created by various college departments.
- Checks for accuracy and completeness of requisitions.
- Understands and interprets purchasing policies.
- Maintains files, correspondence, documents, records, and materials.
- Oversees the receipt of goods and services for approved purchase orders including determination of the proper intended department and forwarding documentation to the department.
- Receives the PO in the Purchasing system.
- Takes required actions upon receipt of damaged goods or incomplete or incorrect shipments.
- Operates postage meter with responsibility for determining the correct rates according to mail class.
- Maintains records of mail accounts, certified mail, bulk mail, postage due, and business reply accounts, FedEx, UPS, etc.
- Responsible for the assignment of all vehicle reservations.
- Review travel authorizations.
- Provides cross-training, depth of support; and critical coverage of essential job duties of senior account clerk positions within the Finance area.
- Maintains, audits, and monitors fixed asset files via asset control sheets, asset transfer, and disposal forms.
- Tags assets and performs inventory of fixed assets.

The hourly rate for this position is $18.80.
