What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator of the Wellness Center - SUNY Orange position at SUNY Orange?
The Coordinator of the Wellness Center will play a key role in promoting, implementing, and supporting initiatives and programs focused on health and well-being for the entire college community. This is a public-facing position responsible for guiding students and staff, while also building strong partnerships with local health and wellness organizations. The coordinator will organize and facilitate communications, events, and workshops for students and staff.
The role requires occasional travel between campuses, partner sites, and other locations as needed.
The Coordinator of the Wellness Center will also be expected to work some evening and weekend hours.
Job Requirements:
Education Required: Associate's degree or higher OR completion of 60 credits at a higher education institution.
Experience Required: Two (2) years of administrative experience; Demonstrated experience with organizing and/or planning meetings or events; Experience working with diverse populations.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working in a public health or educational setting.
- Community College or Higher Education experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, including being able to organize and plan events from start to finish.
- Enthusiasm for establishing partnerships, engaging in outreach, and recruiting for events.
- Ability to research and learn about current and upcoming health and wellness trends.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact professionally with
- the Wellness Center team, local agencies, students, staff, and faculty.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage and coordinate work flow while dealing with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to categorize and prioritize incoming requests.
- Perform well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with using programs or software to create marketing materials and flyers.
- Bilingual skills.

Salary: $44,100 to $50,000 per annum; commensurate with experience. This is a Staff & Chair, Grade 30, 12 month position.
