What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Services Technical Lead - SUNY Orange position at SUNY Orange?
The Technical Lead will support end users in the Student Service Division as the functional lead for the Ellucian Banner Financial Aid and Student modules and all integrated third-party software and database applications. The Technical Lead will play an integral role in the Student Services division by supporting cross-functional collaboration and optimizing the use of technology among those offices that directly enroll students at the college.
The Technical Lead is responsible for coordinating, testing, and assisting IT with implementing all patches, modifications and system upgrades and facilitating training for departmental end users. The Technical Lead documents processes and procedures, creates user manuals/training materials for staff and spearheads the configuring and testing of the annual financial aid year roll over and updates to financial aid tables and programs. The Technical Lead is primarily remote, occasionally be needed on site and must perform duties and responsibilities during the business hours of the college.
The Technical Lead collaborates with IT as needed to trouble-shoot problems and to initiate new product enhancements.
Job Requirements:
Education Required: Associate's degree or higher or SQL certification
Experience Required: Minimum two years of strong technical proficiency with Structed Query Language (SQL). Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with non-technical end users. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated functional knowledge of Ellucian Banner Financial Aid or Student modules
- Prior experience in a college financial aid, registrar or student accounts office.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience gathering data and report writing skills
- Perform well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality
- Ability to coordinate work flow while dealing with multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to present complex information and data in coherent fashion
- Bilingual Skills

Salary: $72,592-$90,397 per annum; commensurate with experience. This is a Staff & Chair, Grade 60, 12 month position.
