Description of Duties:
SUNY Polytechnic Institute's College of Health Sciences, Department of Health Sciences, invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Lecturer (10 Month) of Health Information Management. The successful candidate will teach within SUNY Poly's CAHIIM-accredited Health Information Management Bachelor's degree program.
The successful candidate will teach 9-12 credit hours per semester, advise students, and have the opportunity to engage in curriculum development, industry collaboration, and community outreach. Health Information Management courses are delivered online and the candidate will be expected to teach and advise students online. This is not a remote position. In addition, the successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with faculty and multidisciplinary research centers organized under the thematic areas defined in SUNY Poly's 2024 Strategic Plan: Materials, Robotics & Advanced Manufacturing; AI and Information Technology; Smart Infrastructure and Sustainability; and Healthcare & Wellbeing.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree require from an institution accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognizing accrediting body.
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential.

Proficiency with online Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, D2L, or Canvas
Preferred Qualifications:
- A PhD degree in relevant field of study. Doctoral candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Advanced Degree (i.e, MPH, MS) or extensive training in epidemiology
- Previous teaching experience
- Demonstrated professional experience in health information management
