Job Summary:
SUNY Upstate is seeking a highly motivated Advance Practice Provider Manager to join Upstate Advanced Practice Service Team whose role will have a primary emphasis on administrative duties with a portion of their time dedicated to providing direct clinical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with a team of Advanced Practice Providers across Inpatient, Ambulatory, Offsite locations as well as working collaboratively with the entire interdisciplinary team.
- Responsible for performance and professional development, recruitment & onboarding, quality improvement initiatives, billing & fiscal responsibilities, establishing strategic objective/operational criteria with teams.
- Providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care
- Assess and evaluate patients, order and interpret laboratory tests & diagnostic studies, and arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, referring physicians, and all members of the health care team.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.
- Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice.
- Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
- CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
- Excellent written/oral communication, organizational & interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to maintain good public relations with patients, visitors, co-workers and other individuals.
- 1-2 years demonstrated leadership experience
- 2 years Advance Practice experience.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years Leadership experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel Teams and Powerpoint.
Work Days:
Monday - Friday with protracted hours based on operational need.
