What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anesthesia Associate position at SUNY Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary:
The Anesthesia Associate/Technician assists the Anesthesia Specialists a higher level technician in all locations that general anesthesia is provided. The anesthesia associate/technicians duties include cleaning, set-up, room turnover, and troubleshooting of anesthesia machines and physiological monitoring equipment. The anesthesia associate/technician provides support with technical functions by assisting with airway management, placement of invasive lines, urgent/emergency procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a healthcare related profession or equivalent combination of education and healthcare related experience. Good communication skills required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required . EMT/Advanced EMT may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Operating room protocol experience, knowledge and understanding of aseptic technique, Anesthesia Technician/Technologist experience strongly preferred.
Work Days:
Day/Evenings, no Holidays or Weekends
