Job Summary:
Upstate Community Medical, P.C. at Upstate University Hospital Community Campus is looking for Hospitalist Physicians to join our growing Hospitalist team. The Hospitalist is responsible for admitting patients to the hospital for care, examining patients admitted to the hospital overnight, and supervises APPs, nurses and medical residents.
Responsibilities:
- Ward attending,
- Admissions,
- Covering emergent/urgent needs and codes (RRT/Code Blue) for all hospitalized patients (including other services such as TCU, Psych, and acute rehab),
- Medical consultation on other hospital services (including the Emergency Department),
- process improvement activities, and teaching. The nocturnist covers night shifts, and clinical and health outcomes research.
- MD Degree or equivalent
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Two years previous Hospitalist experience preferred
- COVID-19 Vaccination
- Microsoft Office
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Ability to perform medical examinations using standard medical procedures
- Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures
- Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general public
