What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infectious Disease Attending Physician position at SUNY Upstate Medical University?
The Institute for Digestive Health and Liver Disease (IDHLD) is seeking a full-time general gastroenterologist for immediate appointment. The institute is well-established with specializations in hepatology, IBD, motility disorders, therapeutic endoscopy, colorectal surgery, and advanced pancreatic disorders. The Institute is a hybrid between academia and the private sector, combining the best aspects of both. Salary and benefits are competitive and on-call is infrequent.
Responsibilities
The physician will work within the IDHLD and manage all aspects of patient care including evaluation, diagnosis, education, and treatment. The physician will have the opportunity to hold clinics in the surrounding counties (example : Anne Arundel and Baltimore County) in addition to their clinic at Mercy.
IDHLD has a fully established State-of-the-Art motility center with a support system to complement the center, including experienced therapeutic endoscopists, nurses, dieticians, and surgeons.
Facilities : State-of-the-art Endoscopy Suite and Neurogastroenterology / Motility Center.
Leadership Excellence : A National Center of Excellence, renowned for its comprehensive programs, innovative technology, and leading-edge treatments.
Multidisciplinary Team : Comprised of general GIs, hepatologists, advanced endoscopists (capable of ESD & POEM), IBD specialists, a colorectal surgeon, and a clinical dietician.
Research : Opportunities for research and clinical trials.
Teaching : ACGME GI Fellowship (affiliated with University of Maryland) and Hepatology Fellowship (non-accredited).
Requirements
- Completion of ACGME residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in gastroenterology.
- Must possess or be eligible to possess a state of Maryland physician license.
