The GUEST SERVICE ASSOCIATE will report to OPERATIONS MANAGER and/or GENERAL MANAGER.
Job Overview
The primary purpose of the GUEST SERVICE ASSOCIATE is to perform the Front Desk Duties for all arriving and departing reservations, answering phones, making reservations, and assisting hotel guest with any needs associated with their stay at Super 8 by Wyndham.
Responsibilities and Duties
Listed below are the primary responsibilities and duties of the GUEST SERVICE ASSOCIATE.
- Perform the Check-In/Check-Out of hotel reservations in PMS in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Answer phone calls within three (3) rings whenever possible. Ask callers to hold when you cannot immediately assist them.
- Follow all Restar Guidelines when booking a reservation or taking an inquiry call.
- Complete Laundry duties as instructed on the Daily Shift Checklist.
- Ensure availability of room types for the next three (3) days. Report any negative inventory to Hotel Management.
- Maintain a cash drawer in accordance with company policy.
- Communicate with Housekeeping and Maintenance departments any special needs or requests from hotel guests.
- Maintain the integrity of the Hotel Bucket through performing Bucket Check at start of every shift.
- Monitor and respond to email inquires/requests.
- Ensure the integrity of hotel reservations; check for duplicates, ensure proper method of payment, look for any “back-to-back” reservations.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the Front Office. Vacuum and dust daily. Clean and disinfect all counter-tops, phones, keyboards and mice, door handles, and any other regularly touched surfaces.
- Perform Daily Rate Comparisons with area hotels.
- Ensure the cleanliness and usability of the Public Restroom and other Public Areas.
- Other tasks may be assigned as seen fit by Hotel Management. These tasks can fall under the scope(s) of General Facilities Upkeep, Guest Room Upkeep, Facilities Cleanliness, Stock and Inventory Maintenance, Guest Services, Sales or other related areas. No job Description can encompass all possible duties/task and/or descriptions and may be modified at anytime to accommodate the needs of the Hotel.
Qualifications
Listed below are the basic qualifications of the GUEST SERVICE ASSOCIATE.
- Education level: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in a Guest Services capacity
- Specific skills: Time management and task prioritization, detail oriented, ability to follow instructions, ability to perform basic Math functions, ability to operate a computer and other Office equipment, ability to creatively solve problems.
- Personal characteristics: Friendly, confident, motivated, ability to engage others in conversation.
- Physical abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; stand for long periods of time; ability to bend, grab, reach, push, pull, twist, or other actions associated with performing laundry functions and general cleaning duties.
