Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. Your primary responsibility will be to greet and seat guests, manage reservations, and ensure that all guests feel welcomed and valued. A strong focus on customer service and guest relations is essential to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide them with a friendly introduction to our restaurant.
- Manage the seating chart and ensure efficient seating of guests while minimizing wait times.
- Handle reservations and walk-in guests with professionalism, ensuring an organized flow of customers.
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate guest needs and special requests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and surrounding areas.
- Answer phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing information about menu items, specials, and reservations.
- Assist in guest services by addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Support the restaurant team during busy periods by helping with tasks as needed.
Skills
- Strong guest relations skills with a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus for managing reservations and orders efficiently.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, helping to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Knowledge of hotel or hospitality services can be beneficial in understanding guest needs.
