Superior Ag Resources Cooperative Inc. is a leading provider of crop management solutions. We are seeking an Agronomy Intern to assist our team in delivering exceptional results.
Job Summary:
The Agronomy Intern will provide support to our crop consultants, salespersons, and location managers in administering crop management programs, developing customer relationships, and completing day-to-day operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor assigned customer crops daily for crop condition and pests.
- Interact directly with customers explaining crop diagnosis and solutions in a clear and accurate manner.
- Conduct pre-application inspections of customer fields and crops for pesticide and fungicides application recommendations on behalf of the cooperative.
- Use GPS tracking systems and computer software for identifying and recording field pest locations, and crop management information.
- Assist in seed sales and marketing programs, including the development of the cooperative's seed demonstration plots and customer informational meetings.
- Respond to assigned customer complaints on behalf of the cooperative's agronomy management.
- Work closely with the cooperative's crops and integrated pest management teams in the development and maintenance of all agronomy programs.
- Assist with record keeping and office support assignments.
- Attend recommended crops diagnostic workshops.
- Complete a project established between the intern and their supervisor, and present the completed project to the management team of the sponsoring cooperative at the completion of the internship period.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a full-time registered student majoring in an agricultural discipline.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Meet work eligibility requirements of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and be a permanent resident of the USA.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Be capable of performing the essential functions and duties outlined in the job description.
- Favorable background check results.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
