Job Summary:
The Agronomy Location Manager will plan and oversee the daily operations of the assigned location to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains new employees.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Oversees employee training so tasks are performed properly and safely.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plans and organizes daily activities related to operations.
- Determines labor needs.
- Assists with budget preparation for operations unit.
- Coordinates with the agronomy salesperson at your location.
- Aids in the promotion of sales for agronomy products and services.
- Keeps in contact with customers.
- Maintains targeted margins for the location’s products and services.
- Inventory control for your location.
- Reviews activity, operation, sales and inventory with the Agronomy Division Manager.
- Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Extensive knowledge of agriculture operations and management.
- Ability to interpret financial data as needed.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agri-Business or related field preferred.
- or a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
- May have periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds at a time.
