Superior Construction is currently seeking qualified Mid-Level and Senior Level Estimators for the heavy/highway sector and Industrial Divisions. Our primary operating markets include Northwest Indiana, Chicago, Indianapolis, and the broader Midwest region, encompassing bridge, highway, infrastructure, and industrial/petrochemical projects.
Additionally, candidates will be expected to provide insights into expanding and researching potential growth markets for our Midwest Business Unit. We engage in various contract types such as traditional bid-build, progressive CMGC, progressive design-build, cost-sharing, cost-plus fixed fee, lump sum, unit price, and indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity procurements.

This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent regularly sits for long periods of time at a desk in front of a computer screen.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time (flexible work options). In Person / Occasional Remote Available.
Office Locations
Limited travel for occasional pre-bid meetings, site visits, etc.

Essential Functions
- Coordinate and/or attend pre-bid meetings/site visits
- Set up bids in estimating software
- Coordinate with the estimating department on bid responsibilities
- Subcontractor and vendor coordination/quote solicitation
- Takeoff and costing for bids or designated scopes of work
- Develop a preliminary project schedule
- Analyze risk for bids
- Evaluate and develop potential alternative designs or constructability options
- Participating in bid reviews
- Participate in bid closing/submission
- Coordinate project handoff from estimating to operations
- Develop and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Business development and pursuing potential bid opportunities
- Assist with the leadership and development of entry-level estimating staff
- Foster and maintain a safe work environment
- Market and promote the Superior Construction brand
- Help develop and mentor young talent
- Knowledge of the estimating process.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in estimating software (B2W, HCSS, or equivalent, Bluebeam, Excel, etc.)

Required Education And Experience
- BS in Construction, Engineering, or other relevant fields
- Minimum two years of heavy/civil construction estimating experience
- Estimating software experience (B2W, HCSS, etc.)
- 10 years of heavy/civil construction industry experience
- Estimating experience is a preference, but not required
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
