About The Court
Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 36 facilities within the Court's 12 judicial districts and are supported by more than 4,800 full-time Court employees. The Court has an annual budget of more than $1 billion. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County is geographically one of the nation's largest counties, covering 4,752 square miles and, with over 10,400,000 residents, is also one of its most populous counties.
About The Programs
The Court's volunteer and internship programs offer participants valuable opportunities for practical work experience and skill development while familiarizing them with court procedures and various operations, functions, and activities. The programs are intended to provide participants with an enhanced understanding of and appreciation for the judicial system. Please review the descriptions below carefully to ensure you select the appropriate program in your application.
Placement Areas: Participants may be placed in any courthouse in LA County. Indicate your preferred area in your application. Remote/hybrid opportunities may also be available.

Note: most programs allow participation as a volunteer or intern.
Volunteers donate their services without pay from the Court and without compensation or credit from a third party (may receive aid or benefits as part of a government program).
Interns receive accreditation or course credit from their school or certification program. (it is applicant's responsibility to determine if the Court's program meets the requirements of their specific course/program to receive credit).
What To Expect Next
If you qualify for the program for which you applied, you will be placed on an eligibility list for up to 6 months and considered for available opportunities.

- Court Administration & Courthouse Operations
Placement Areas: Participants may be placed in any courthouse in LA County. Indicate your preferred area in your application. Remote/hybrid opportunities may also be available.
Who Should Apply
- Current only accepting Individuals referred by employment support programs like CalWorks, GROW, SER, Pathpoint, etc...
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Judicial & Courtroom Operations
Placement Areas: Participants may be placed in any courthouse in LA County. Indicate your preferred area in your application.
Who Should Apply
- Individuals applying as part of a university cohort
- Must be at least 16 years old.
