Job Summary: Accounting Assistant
is responsible for maintaining the policies, procedures, work instruction and standards of the company. This will be a salary exempt position. Wages between $43,000 - $50,000/year based on experience.
Duties/Responsibilities:

- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions for 3 plants
- Assist HR with employee updates and new hires
- Maintain timekeeping and scheduling in HRIS system
- Verify and total daily time/production sheets.
- Distributes accounting reports as directed and contacts plant personnel to solve issues
- Process vendor invoices from matching, coding to entering in accounting system
- Maintain W9 records
- Enter/email billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
- Production data entry
- Other tasks as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Manufacturing environment with heat, noise, dust, and vibration
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous Payroll Experience is required
- Degree/obtaining a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred
- Previous accounting experience a plus
- Experience with Paycor is a plus
