Production Manager 2nd Shift
The 2nd Shift Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling manufacturing processes and communicating results, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager
This position will monitor production needs, schedule labor, and arrange work flow for optimum efficiency and production
The Operations Manager will develop and enforce standard operating procedures for production while ensuring the company’s goals for maintaining safety and quality standards are met
This position must be able to provide support to the manufacturing regarding labor, tracking, and personnel issues
Drives company goals to help provide direction for the department and acts as the liaison between management and the plant floor
Involved with the day-to-day operations of the plant floor, communicating information to higher ups
Provides support and direction to staff for production schedules to ensure production numbers are met while adhering to the company’s safety and quality standards
Supports by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests
Supports and coordinates with the Manufacturing Manager and other staff for manufacturing results
Supports company policies and enforces systems, policies, and procedures
Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, and studying methods for improvements
Recommends cost reductions related to the manufacturing side
Troubleshoots process control points and provides solutions
Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Interviews, hires and trains employees
Plans, assigns, and directs work
Evaluates performance, disciplines employees, and addresses complaints and resolves problems as needed
Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques
Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or personnel
Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists personnel in solving work problems
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate personnel to achieve work goals
Responsible for knowing and following Company policies as directed by the Associate Handbook and the Safety Rules, Regulations, and Quality Manual
Adheres to confidentially requirements related to the organization
Promotes professional behavior within the organization
