Job Description:
- Primary responsibility is to increase sales and improve profitability with a focus on program selling through the Packaging Management Program and Managed Service Agreements.
- Manage assigned strategic accounts and facilitate new business utilizing both SupplyOne and preferred distributor partnerships
- Develop direct new strategic sales opportunities through direct selling
- Coordinate strategic multi-location opportunities initiated from both SupplyOne operating locations and preferred distributor partnerships.
- Work in concert with our locations and directly with the sales team to develop and implement strategies to capitalize on strategic selling opportunities within existing accounts as well as develop new business by targeting specific end user segments (i.e.- E-Commerce)
- Coordinate and communicate with customers regarding key performance indicators, project management and overall review on ongoing business relationship to ensure that we are identifying and exceeding goals and objectives
- Responsible for coordinating and delegating activities for sourcing RFQ’s and PMP’s associated with strategic accounts.
- Responsible for prospecting and acquiring new business and for managing accounts, as assigned, in the region where you are physically located
- Sustain contact and provide service to these accounts in order to achieve sales objectives .
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Sell all goods and services at profitable levels to existing and prospective customers
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all applicable goods and services
- Maintain a good working knowledge of all computer systems and programs as appropriate
- Work effectively with all levels of employees to provide quality products and services to customers
- Create and develop additional key relationships in critical accounts, as agreed upon by Sr. VP of Sales and SupplyOne location executive leadership
- Identify and expand key account retention strategies with a focus on the company’s “Total Packaging Management” objective
- Submit all required reports accurately and on time
- Timely completion and return of sell price change information
- Assist Credit Department with collection of past due invoices
- Support the company in its overall direction and goals
- Stay abreast of changes and developments in accounts, the marketplace, the competition and the industry
- Use Commodity Report data to identify organic growth opportunities at existing accounts and develop strategies to gain business
- Visit existing account targets and execute a strategy to close available opportunities
- Create a strategy to hire and train experienced and developmental packaging distribution salespeople
- Provide technical sales support for sales team
- Engage with, coordinate and negotiate with suppliers to support strategic accounts
- Identify PMP and Managed Service target opportunities at new and/or existing accounts, coordinate and deliver presentations and secure assessments.
- Work with sales team to effectively manage existing business including selling multiple product categories, multiple service platforms and improving overall profitability.
- Provide direction to Purchasing and Customer Service to ensure our resources are being utilized to effectively to manage account opportunities.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and equivalent business experience; 7 years experience in sales with a strong packaging background desired; wholesales or distribution experience a plus.
