Purchasing Agent

Review daily reports related to purchased items and update Amtech or take action as needed (reports such as Insufficient Inventory, Unprinted Drop Ship, Product & Commodity Codes)Participate in New Item Meetings as required when cutting dies, print plates, or other consumable items needed to be purchased.Maintain an in-depth understanding and level of product knowledge related to consumables and other products regularly purchased.Use problem solving techniques to meet customer, supplier, and internal needs while maintaining cost-effective practices.Handle product complaints, questions, and follow ups with appropriate internal personnel and suppliers as required.Initiate well-documented Vendor Error Reports (VER) and facilitate returns or debit / credits with suppliers.Update and manage supplier information, as well as prices increases and decreases in Amtech.Order samples and literature to assist sales team.Maintain established purchasing files to include hard copy purchase orders and PO acknowledgements.Prepare sales quotations for stock items.Assist with sourcing of non-stock items and prepare quotations as requested.Establish inventory item numbers for new items, along with minimum and maximum inventory levels.Assist in monitoring inventory turns and adjust purchases to maintain the desired turn count.Recommend appropriate packaging materials for sales teamPrepare cost justifications to support new quotationsUse professional communication methods with co-workers and suppliers.Understand company safety policy and requirements, and the use of PPE as required when in the plant.Comply with all company policies and procedures.Any / all other duties assigned.
