Position: Mate (Landing Craft – 200 Ton)
Location: Alaska – Primary location this season: Yukon River
Schedule: Mid-May through the end of the season (project-based)
Pay: $400–$550/day, depending on experience (DOE)
About the Role
We’re looking for a capable and experienced Mate (200-ton license) to serve aboard a landing craft. You’ll play a key role in vessel operations, navigation, and crew coordination, while also supporting mobilization, cargo handling, and onshore deployments. You’ll work side-by-side with a tight-knit crew to safely and efficiently accomplish each mission.
This is not your average maritime job. Our vessels support a wide range of operations, including:
- Housing vessel and remote camp logistics
- Hydrographic, geophysical, and geotechnical surveys
- Pipeline and cable route studies
- Offshore oil platform hazard surveys
- Scientific research, including marine mammal and ocean monitoring
- Deployment and retrieval of scientific moorings and sensors
- Environmental response and oil spill cleanup support
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a Mate (or similar role) aboard commercial vessels — landing craft and river navigation experience strongly preferred
- Strong teamwork, clear communication, and situational awareness
- Ability to work in remote, often rugged environments with shifting logistics
- Valid USCG license appropriate to the role (200-ton)
