TITLE: Neuro-Wellness Outreach Coordinator

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
Salary Range: $47,500 - $50,000
Summary: The Neuro-Wellness Outreach Coordinator will oversee the recruitment of interns for SLI's Neuro-Fit Internship and supervise the Neuro-Fit Assisted Exercise Program along with other Neuro-Wellness Programs. This role involves direct engagement with brain injury survivors and other neurological conditions, providing long-term fitness solutions.
Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
Oversight of Neuro-Wellness Program (NWP):
- Work hands-on with survivors of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and other neurological conditions in various wellness classes, including art, music, and Neuro-Fit Assisted Exercise. Travel intermittently between Neuro-Fit satellite sites in the Lexington area and North Shore
- Oversee undergraduate and graduate students involved in Neuro-Fit Assisted Exercise and those completing fieldwork at SLI residential locations.
- Assist in the design and growth of the Neuro-Fit program.
- Maintain clear communication with participants and interns regarding schedule changes, absences, and other relevant information.
Intern & Volunteer Recruitment:
- Screen and interview intern candidates three times a year for the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
- Establish and sustain connections with college and community partners. Attend professional development events (on-site or virtual), including career fairs and networking opportunities.
- Monitor outreach efforts on online platforms such as LinkedIn, Handshake, Bloomerang, and others.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Neuro-Wellness Outreach Coordinator has supervisory responsibility for the Neuro-Wellness Department, including approximately 6-10 direct reports, including 6-10 interns.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in recreation, exercise, or wellness setting required
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
- Ability to use/navigate the Internet and email, computers, word processing, graphics and multimedia, spreadsheets, and databases. Ability to create presentations and spreadsheets. Utilization and proficiency in industry specific software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Obtain CPR/AED certification, within one month of employment
- Exercise or fitness certification from an accredited institution (ACSM, NASM, etc.) preferred
