We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Body Shop Estimator to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Evaluate damaged vehicles and provide accurate estimates for repair costs.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain the estimation process and repair options.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure all necessary repairs are identified and documented.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining the scope of work required for each vehicle.
- Utilize industry-standard software to generate estimates and manage repair orders.
- Follow up with customers regarding their vehicle status and any changes in repair timelines.
- Assist in upselling additional services or products that may benefit the customer’s vehicle.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, invoices, and customer interactions.
Experience
- Proven experience in auto service management or as a Body Shop Estimator is preferred.
- Familiarity with auto body repair processes and techniques is essential.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair, brake repair, and air brake systems is advantageous.
- Previous experience in automotive sales or dealership environments is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand complex automotive systems.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- High School diploma required, bache 1-3 years prior experience as a collision estimator or insurance appraiser. Prior damage analysis experience – hybrid vehicles, restraint systems, electrical systems, and identifying hail, theft and vandalism damage. Experience with collision management systems (CCC, MRC). * Fluent using Mitchell or CCC-1 estimating software. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook). * I-CAR training or other industry training preferred. * History of working independently without close supervision. Strong sales and negotiation skills.
