What are the responsibilities and job description for the BSA/AML Analyst position at Surety Bank?
Position Summary: Assists the BSA Officer with compliance to the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control, USA PATRIOT Act and other Anti-Money Laundering regulations. Monitors transaction activity on daily basis ensuring AML software is capturing all required data. Completes 314a, legal requests and assists BSA staff where needed.
Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following but not limited to:
1. Primary responsibility will be to prepare and submit Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) in compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of transaction data before submission.
3. Maintain organized and detailed records of CTR filings.
4. Maintain current knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations, along with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
5. Maintain required documentation for high-risk customers within the AML software.
6. Correspond with the bank’s customers while maintaining polite and professional communication via telephone, and e-mail.
7. Complete assigned AML/CFT/OFAC training.
8. All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
1. Minimum of one year of experience working in a position that is directly related to data entry, banking, finance, or compliance is a plus.
2. A working knowledge of AML/CFT/OFAC policies pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations, and procedures a plus.
3. Must be an independent worker and self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
4. Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
5. Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
7. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and use of pivot tables as well as the ability to learn new software quickly.
8. Ability to:
a. Prepare clear and concise reports.
b. Grasp new ideas and concepts quickly.
c. Multi-task and prioritize.
d. Work well under pressure.
e. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
f. Be cooperative and willing to assist others.
