We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Operator to join our team. The Injection Molding Operator is a key member of the manufacturing team, responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining injection molding machines during the second shift. This role ensures the production of high-quality parts by performing machine startups, troubleshooting, and monitoring operations. Responsibilities
Machine Setup and Operation:
- Set up and start up injection molding machines according to production schedules and specifications.
- Perform mold changes and set up for optimal production.
- Adjust machine parameters to achieve consistent quality and efficiency.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications.
- Conduct regular quality checks on molded parts to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Record production data accurately, including cycle times, scrap rates, and downtime.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of injection molding machines to address minor mechanical or process issues.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff for more complex repairs or adjustments.
- Assist in identifying root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Follow established ISO 9000 standards and quality control procedures.
- Communicate any quality concerns or non-conformities to the supervisor promptly.
- Ensure all parts meet customer specifications through regular inspections.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and promote safe work practices within the team.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
- Report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in injection molding or manufacturing is a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience operating injection molding machines preferred.
- Strong understanding of injection molding processes, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to make minor machine adjustments.
- Familiarity with mold installation, alignment, and removal procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Attention to detail for monitoring product quality and identifying defects.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly during mold changes or material handling.
- Manual dexterity for operating machines and handling small parts.
- Work in various environmental conditions including moderate noise levels and proximity to moving machinery.
