What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Service Agent/Beach Recreation dual role position at Surfsand Resort - Cannon Beach?
The Surfsand Resort is seeking to fill a full-time seasonal Guest Services position for the summer! This is a combined role, with the primary responsibility as a Front Desk Agent and a part-time Beach Recreation Attendant.
As a Guest Service Representative, you will be the face of the hotel, interacting with guests throughout all stages of their stay. This position involves handling front desk duties, including reservations, guest services, and answering telephone calls.
As a Beach Recreation Attendant, you will help deliver exceptional guest service, showcasing our resort's extraordinary amenities. In addition to providing shuttle service, you'll help facilitate a range of resort amenities, including bonfire service with s'mores, Saturday ice cream socials, Sunday hot dog roasts, beer and cider tastings, and daily cookie baking. Additional responsibilities will include grounds keeping for both the Surfsand Resort and Wayfarer Restaurant.

- Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel and up-sells hotel rooms according to hotel standard procedures.
- Follows all guidelines in regard to guest service, including but not limited to check-in, reservations, check out, special requests and pre-registration
- Respond promptly to any guests’ inquiries or complaints in a friendly manner and offer alternate solutions if guest demand cannot be met
- Demonstrate commitment to servicing the guest by being hospitable and accommodating
- Document any guest accidents by completing the accident report form
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred OR 6 months of related experience/training
- One year of hospitality experience preferred
- Experience handling cash and credit card procedures
- Basic Math skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability and flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
