Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Process Technician in meat processing. This role involves preparing meat for sale through various tasks such as cleaning, cutting, grinding, deboning, and packaging. You will play a key part in ensuring the high quality of our meat products and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards in the processing area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
- Cutting: Cut meat into steaks, chops, and other cuts as needed.
- Deboning: Remove bones from meat products.
- Grinding: Grind meat into paste for further processing.
- Packaging: Weigh, label, and wrap meat for sale or customer orders.
- Sorting: Separate meat into various categories for different uses.
- Storing: Receive, inspect, and properly store meat products.
- Maintaining: Sharpen knives and adjust cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Record Keeping: Maintain inventory, budgets, and other relevant records.
Required Skills:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
- Communication: Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with team members.
- Detail Orientation: Ensure correct labeling and presentation of products for sale.
- Tolerance for Blood: Comfortable working with blood if assigned to a slaughterhouse environment.
Training:
- On-the-job training will be provided to familiarize you with equipment and processes.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
Schedule:
- All shifts are day shifts, typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Slaughter days may require earlier start times depending on production needs.
